What is Selank?

Selank (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro) is a synthetic heptapeptide derived from the naturally occurring immunomodulatory peptide tuftsin (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg), with an added Pro-Gly-Pro tail for enzymatic stability. Developed at the same Russian institute as Semax, Selank was approved in Russia in 2009 for treatment of generalized anxiety disorder and neurasthenic conditions.

Selank provides anxiolytic (anti-anxiety) effects comparable to benzodiazepines but without sedation, cognitive impairment, addiction potential, or withdrawal symptoms.
