What is CJC-1295 DAC?

CJC-1295 DAC (Drug Affinity Complex) is a synthetic analog of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH 1-29) modified with a maleimido-propionyl group that covalently binds to serum albumin in the bloodstream. This “Drug Affinity Complex” dramatically extends the peptide’s half-life from minutes to 6-8 days, enabling once or twice weekly dosing.

Originally developed by ConjuChem Biotechnologies, CJC-1295 DAC produces a sustained elevation of growth hormone and IGF-1 levels rather than acute pulses. In clinical studies, a single injection increased mean GH levels 2-10 fold and IGF-1 levels 1.5-3 fold for 6-14 days.

The sustained GH elevation profile makes CJC-1295 DAC popular for anti-aging, body composition, and recovery goals — but the “always on” GH signal is a double-edged sword. Some prefer the pulsatile release pattern of CJC-1295 without DAC (also called Modified GRF 1-29), which more closely mimics natural GH secretion.

// How It Works

How CJC-1295 DAC Works

CJC-1295 DAC stimulates sustained GH release via albumin-binding technology:

  1. GHRH receptor agonism — Binds to GHRH receptors on anterior pituitary somatotrophs, stimulating growth hormone synthesis and secretion.
  2. Albumin conjugation (DAC) — The maleimidopropionyl group forms a covalent bond with circulating serum albumin, protecting the peptide from enzymatic degradation and creating a depot effect.
  3. Sustained GH elevation — Rather than producing sharp pulses (like natural GHRH), CJC-1295 DAC creates a sustained 2-10x elevation of baseline GH levels over 6-8 days.
  4. IGF-1 amplification — Chronic GH elevation stimulates sustained hepatic IGF-1 production, with levels remaining elevated for up to 2 weeks after a single dose.
